In Arlington, Texas, one Darrell Roberson came home to find his wife rolling around with a man in a truck in the driveway. Mrs. Roberson cried rape at which point her husband pulled a gun and shot the interloper in the head, killing him.
It turns out Mrs. Roberson was in flagrante delicto with Dead Loverboy and not being raped after all. A Texas grand jury declined to charge the husband with murder, but instead charged the wife with manslaughter.
Moral: don't mess (around) with Texas
